What is Pilates?

Pilates was designed by Joseph Pilates in the 1920’s. He developed a series of exercises that can help build flexibility, muscle strength and develop a strong core or centre whilst also helping to improve alignment, coordination and balance.

The Pilates system is adaptable and allows for exercises to be modified / tailored for individual needs and ranges from beginner to advanced levels. This makes Pilates available for all to enjoy and realise the benefits.

About me

My name is Tracey I have been teaching mat Pilates since April 2009 and studio Pilates since December 2010. I started Pilates by seeing an advertisement for classes and thought I would give it a try, I immediately loved it and after attending classes for a year or so decided to train to teach it!

I still enjoy it with a passion and think it is an amazing programme that it can accommodate all ages and all abilities and can be tailored to fit individual needs. It is very rewarding to see clients' transitions from when they first start and the benefits they have gained along the way.
